The City of Menifee is about to embark on an economic overhaul as developers plan to make the city the next booming location in Southern California.

Anchored in the heart of Southwest Riverside County along Interstate 215, just north of Temecula, Menifee is one of the region’s fastest growing cities.
Menifee’s central location–an hour’s drive from San Diego, Orange County and Riverside– combined with desirable housing options (over 35,000 rooftops), great schools (ranked 2nd in Southwest Riverside County) and a strong community, is creating a real growing buzz in Southern California. Menifee’s 90,000+ residents (median age is 37 years) enjoy this safe and attractive place to live, work, shop and raise a family.
Developers have also discovered Menifee! There is more than two million square feet of approved or under construction retail/commercial projects underway, aimed at closing a small piece of a $400+ million sales tax leakage currently in the city. This is only a portion of more than 110 projects, including residential, slated to be built in the coming years. With more than a 730,000 person regional draw, stores, restaurants and entertainment amenities including Krikorian’s Premiere Theatres and Entertainment Complex, featuring a 16-lane bowling alley, 14 screen theaters, two sports bars, an arcade, laser tag center and sit-down and casual-dining scratch kitchen restaurant, fitness centers and grocery stores are all coming soon to Menifee. “Projects creating commercial space bring new businesses and jobs to the city, which in turn keeps residents close to home and increases their overall quality of life,” said Mayor Scott Mann.
To improve traffic circulation in this growing region, the city of Menifee has embarked on a five-year, ten-project, $170 million Capital Improvement Program, dubbed Menifee Moving. The city created this comprehensive program to prepare for the influx of new retail and residential projects coming to Menifee, essentially making Menifee the only city in Riverside County to have all interchanges under pre-construction or construction in the city.
So far, four CIP projects have been completed and the highly anticipated Newport Road/Interstate 215 Interchange project is currently under construction and is near completion for this fall. The Holland Road overpass project was recently given streamlined approval by Caltrans, and final design is complete. Construction is expected to begin end of 2016.
From regional shopping attractions to infrastructure, to building community, Menifee is booming and is known regionally as a “trailblazing city” and “a city to be a part of,” and we invite you to discover it for yourself.
